Banish shoe stains from your carpets
Getting shoe stains on your carpet can be a real bug-bear, but unfortunately if you have children or pets then these types of marks aren't rare.
In fact, kids and animals can make it particularly difficult to keep your carpets in pristine condition, and all it takes is one accident or spill and it could be ruined.
The most common type of marks that find their way onto our floors are mud prints, wet stains, chewing gum and in the worst case scenario, dog droppings.
If you've got experience of tackling muddy footprints on a light coloured carpet, then you'll know already the battle that ensues - not to mention that the likelihood of you fully removing the stain being fairly slim.
However, if you're savvy enough to hire a professional carpet cleaning company then you'll already know that this is the only sure fire way to get your carpet looking as good as new.
To reduce the risk of getting dirt on your carpet, we highly recommend placing doormats at the entrances to your home. In addition, you should make sure to remove shoes before you stand on carpets - and encourage your guests to do so too.
These simple steps can reduce the amount of work that has to be done in the long-run. However, with pets this can be much harder to control.
Therefore, you should also think about laying down some long plastic sheets along the areas of the house your pet is most likely to come into contact with, especially after playing outside.
Of course, it's not possible to keep your carpets spotless, so getting them cleaned a couple of times a year should give them a new lease of life and get them looking as good as new.
