Freshen out your fridge with a deep clean
A dirty fridge can be seriously bad news. Failing to keep on top of stains and clearing out old food can result in some unwelcome smells and germs filling your refrigerator.
Keeping on top of the task is the key here. This means that each time you get back from the supermarket you should get to work.
This entails checking the use by dates on any old food and clearing out as and when required before stocking your fridge full of new items.
Failing to do so could result in a rogue slice of cheese, raw meat or a piece of fruit becoming mouldy in a dark, dank corner of your refrigerator.
Of course, while you can do an awful lot of good by carrying out such tasks regularly, every now and then you will need to engage in a deep clean.
When doing so you should first take any removable shelves out of the fridge and put these into soak in a bowl of warm water. You can aid removing stubborn stains on these surfaces by adding a dash of washing up liquid to the mix.
With those shelves taken care of, you can now turn your attention to the inside of the fridge. You should first make sure that any crumbs are removed from the area and you can then spray a specialised cleaning solution. After leaving this for a few minutes you should wipe this away with a damp cloth.
If that doesn't quite do the job, then you may wish to turn to baking soda. By combining a tablespoon of this versatile powder with a mixture of warm water and white vinegar you can create a homemade cleaning paste that will shift all manner of stains.
This may all seem like a lot of work, and so you may instead wish to consider calling in the experts to take care of keeping your refrigerator in superb condition.
