It’s needless to say that a lot of people keep pets at home, and if you happen to have a very hyperactive kitten that likes to bounce off the walls or see how many things it can knock onto the floor from a height and make a mess!

More often than not, while it can be annoying to constantly pick up small items that the cat has knocked over from the windowsill or a little bookshelf, it’s not always a cause for panic because the item contained some form of liquid that could stain your carpet or furniture.  However, you might be caught off guard whilst painting your nails, and before you know it there’s nail varnish streaked across the carpet.  Time to panic!

This problem can be solved quite easily by calling a professional cleaning company.  If you can’t hire a house cleaner then follow these simple instructions to successfully remove the nail varnish in a matter of minutes.

First of all, you will want to gather the following materials:

  • Paper towels
  • Nail varnish remover
  • A bowl
  • Dish washing soap
  • A white towel

Even if you are in the middle of getting ready, it is important to act fast.  Removal of the nail varnish will be more difficult if you let it sit and harden.

  • Absorb as much of the excess nail varnish with a paper towel.
  • Soak a fresh paper towel with the nail varnish remover and dab at the remaining stain.  Repeat the process until the stain disappears.
  • Pour a measure of dish washing soap into a bowl of hot water and apply the solution to the carpet using a white towel.  This will remove any remaining residue that has sunk deeper into the fibres.
  • Dry the area with a fresh towel and your cleaning duties are done!
