It doesn’t have to be St. Patrick’s Day to enjoy a few pints of Guinness. House parties can be held for a number of occasions, and there is always the risk of a beverage being spilled onto the carpet, which could be a house cleaner’s nightmare!
Guinness can be removed from your carpet using the same cleaning method for treating beer stains; however the dark colour may prove stubborn if you delay it too much. Remember the faster you act, the easier it will be to clean!
Of course, if you are hosting a party, but the prospect of cleaning afterwards is far too daunting, you could always call in a team of experienced house cleaners.
If you spill beer onto your carpet, you will need the following ingredients in order to clean it:
- Mild detergent
- White vinegar
Create a solution containing one teaspoon of mild detergent and a cup of warm water. Dip a clean white towel into the mixture and dab at the stain. Don’t scrub at the area as this will only damage the fibres and spread the stain over a wider area.
If this doesn’t do the trick, create a solution using one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Use the same dabbing technique until you’re happy that the stain is gone. Finally sponge the area with clean water and use a fresh towel to dry thoroughly.
You should always check that the detergent you use contains no bleach, and test your homemade solutions on an inconspicuous area of your carpet before going after the stain.
If you require help with the tidying up and everyday household chores, you could hand the duties over to a cleaning company. For more details, visit https://www.fkdomestics.co.uk/
