Window cleaner gets in the "festive spirit" - 12/12/2008
A North Yorkshire window cleaner is dressing up as Santa Claus in a bid to boost trade.
Phil Milner, from Crystal Clear, Scarborough, has worked as a
window cleaner for 19 years and hopes dressing-up will get him noticed.
The businessman plans to don a traditional red Santa Claus suit while cleaning his customers' windows.
In addition, Mr Milner has decorated his van in a festive style to draw attention to his business.
The
window cleaner hopes his efforts will increase customer numbers in the current economic climate.
"Business has going through a bit of a quiet patch recently so I thought I'd get into the festive spirit and try to give it a boost," he told the Evening Scarborough News.
"I've decorated the van too so I'm fairly noticeable driving around town. At the end of the day it's all a bit of fun for Christmas."
In other news, researchers at Michigan State University recently unveiled a window-cleaning robot which works by sticking to surfaces while washing them.
