Domestic cleaners given bathroom advice - 26/06/2009
Domestic cleaners planning to spring clean their bathroom have been given some tips on how best to go about the difficult task.
The Deseret News reports on how hotels undertake the cleaning of bathrooms and highlights a number of methods that could be used by domestic cleaners when carrying out the same task in the home.
Jenny Botero, resident manager of the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, told the publication that an important way to make the most of any cleaning products used is to heat the water used for washing.
She explained that heating the water to just ten degrees above the room temperature is enough to double the effectiveness of alkaline cleansers.
Ms Botero also suggested that domestic cleaners, like her team of commercial cleaners, should work from top to bottom, spraying on antibacterial cleaner on tile walls beginning at the highest point and working their way down, finishing with the bath, toilet bowl and eventually the floor.
Earlier this week, sanitiser and cleaning products firm Destaph announced the launch of its First Call product for commercial cleaners, which claims to kill 99.9 per cent of MRSA bacteria, according to RDH magazine.
